Loup Power District has recognized Vice President of Operations Dan Hellbusch for 40 years of service.
Hellbusch joined Loup in 1986 as an apprentice line technician at the Columbus Service Center. Later that year he was promoted to line technician. He was named St. Edward local superintendent in 1989.
In 1994, Hellbusch was promoted to Columbus division superintendent. He was promoted to his current position of vice president of operations in 2014.
Hellbusch’s responsibilities include overseeing all the operations of Loup’s operations and hydro divisions throughout the District’s service territory. These activities include construction, operation, and maintenance of the District’s electrical transmission and distribution system. He also oversees the hydro generation facilities, canal system, and recreation facilities.
Hellbusch is a graduate of Fullerton High School and received his training at Northeast Community College in Norfolk. He has three children: Cody, Maggie, and Lauran. He has five grandchildren: Henry, Eli, Calvin, Walker, and Willow.
