Korey Hobza appointed Loup Power District President/CEO effective January 1, 2026

Korey Hobza, VP of Engineering at Loup Power District

The Loup Power District Board of Directors appointed Korey Hobza as President/CEO effective January 1, 2026, following the retirement of Neal Suess at the end of the year.

The Board made the announcement at its January meeting. Board Chairman Jim Donoghue said Hobza will be a great leader for Loup Power District.

“Korey’s a valued employee and we’re excited to work with him as CEO starting next year,” Donoghue said.

Hobza has served as Loup’s Vice President of Engineering since 2020. He is a graduate of Leigh Public Schools and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Suess announced his retirement plans last year. The board began the replacement search soon after to ensure that there would be adequate training time.

“I’m looking forward to working with Korey over the next few months as we make this transition,” Suess said. “Although there is much to do and many ongoing activities, Korey’s knowledge and understanding of the District’s system will make the transition smoother for all.”

Hobza said he excited to work with Suess for the remainder of 2025.

“I’m grateful for the opportunity to learn from Neal who has more than 20 years of experience,” Hobza said. “His depth of knowledge will be a great resource as I prepare to take on this new role at Loup Power District.”
